FIESTAS IN BENIDORM
JANUARY
The Calvalcade of the Three Kings. 5th January. San Antonio Abad at the Hermita de Sanz. 17th January.
FEBRUARY
Carnival. Processions, fancy dress contests and the burial of the sardine fill the streets of Benidorm with life during the Carnival days.
MARCH
Commemoration of the finding of the Virgin of the Suffrage. 16th March Las
Fallas. The Valecian fiesta par excellence is held here during San Jose,
from 16th March to 19th March. There are three Falla commisions: Centre Falla,
Rincon Falla and Els Tolls Falla which are in charge of planting their figures
in the respective districts. Processions, offerings and street entertainment
culminate in the Crema or bonfire on the 19th of March.
APRIL
Semana Santa or Holy Week. A week of solemn, but incredibly beautiful, religious processions and services.
MAY
Festa de la Creu. One of the fiestas with the greatest traditions in our town. It takes place on May 1st. Fiesta of Foietes District.
JUNE
Romeria del Corpus. The traditional Andalucian fiesta with horse processions and a colourful fair next to the bullring. The Bonfires of St. John. Satirical wood and papier mache figures are displayed for several days and the burnt on the nit del foc of 24th June in the La Cala, Central Market and Old town areas.
JULY
San Fermin. 6th and 7th July. St. Christopher. First weekend in July. Fiestas of the Carmen. 16 July. St. James. 25th July. Benidorm's patron saint.
AUGUST
During the month of August, due to the lack of fiestas, the Town Council puts on a great variety of cultural activities including live concerts of all types most nights in the Aiguera Park auditoriums.
SEPTEMBER
Fiesta of Asturias. A fiesta organised by those from this region on the 6th and 7th of September. Harvest Festival.
OCTOBER
Fiestas of Imalsa II. The first weekend of the month. Valencia Day. Regional day.
NOVEMBER
Fiestas of the Town. This year 10th to 15th of November. They run from the second Saturday to the following Wednesday and are a wild week of floats, flowers, penas, parties, music.
DECEMBER
The Christmas programme starts on the 20th and continues through to the 6th of January. On New Years Eve, the main celebrations culminate.
