Cambrils is in the Spanish region of Catalonia on the Costa Dorada in Spain. The town has managed to retain the charm of a traditional Spanish fishing village despite the modern hotels and apartments that pepper the coast. It has a good choice of seafood restaurants, superb beaches and is near Universal Studios Port Aventura theme park.
The resort is in the south west of Costa Dorada which means Gold Coast, a reference to the beaches which run from the city of Barcelona to beginning of the Costa Brava.
The two nearest airports are Barcelona and Reus. Reus airport is the nearer of the two. Cheap flights are available and car hire will make the transfers easier.
On the Mediterranean the resort can boast a fine selection of watersports and beach fun, Cambrils is ideal for family package holidays.
Cambrils is a working fishing port and you can watch the catches being landed. Unlike other resorts it still retains a lot of its original Spanish character. Not like Salou. It has narrow streets of cobbles, fine shops markets and restaurants.
Children will enjoy a day at the water park in La Pineda, a resort six kilometres up the coast from Salou.
Visit Barcelona and see the Gaudi architecture, fountains, Olympic stadium and world renowned zoo.
Visit Tarragona, see Roman aqueducts, monasteries and amphitheatres, only ten miles up the coast.
